 Founded in 1995, and located in Toledo, Ohio on the west shore of Lake Erie, Captain Tony Marine Surveying provides an extensive range of marine services, specializing in yacht and small crafts, for both pleasure and commercial service.
Additional services include, but are not limited to, marina and equipment appraisals, vessel damage surveys, insurance inspections/re-inspections, expert/courtroom testimony, and salvage coordination/oversight.
Expert consultation services are also available, either in person or over the telephone. Our services can also be custom-tailored to meet the needs of individual customers.
With every assignment we strive to not only provide, at reasonable cost, a detailed and professional report, but also to make the marine survey process a learning experience for our customers, whom we encourage to attend our inspection and ask whatever questions they may have.
Our home service area is the south shore of Lake Erie, including northern and central Ohio, western Pennsylvania, western New York, western Lake Ontario, eastern Michigan, the Detroit River and lower Lake St. Clair. We have also served customers, by special arrangement and request, in the southeastern states and Florida.
Our Chief Surveyor is Captain Tony Anton. Mr. Anton has been involved in yacht and small craft surveying full time for the company since 1995. Mr. Anton is a graduate of Navtech Surveying Academy, Fort Myers, Florida.
The surveyor you choose should be the best to protect your safety and investment. After all, you have time, money, and love invested in your vessel or the vessel you wish to launch. Marine surveying is not a regulated profession. The U.S. Coast Guard does not license, certify or approve marine surveyors.
What does this mean to you, the boater or sailor who needs to have a marine survey or appraisal compiled for purchase, insurance, or repair? Basically, it means you are almost always left to your own discretion on choosing who inspects your vessel. Accordingly, you must choose your marine surveyor wisely.
